Lumina - Mythen der Noskori - Genesis
This work explores the mythology of the Noskori people. Once, they ruled an entire continent with a vast and powerful empire. However, a decisive event — possibly a catastrophic one — brought about the downfall of their civilization. Yet, the myths and stories of the Noskori have endured through time and continue to be passed on to this day.
The work is written for a quarter-tone harpsichord, with the second manual tuned a quarter-tone lower.
Furthermore, this piece may serve as the beginning of a larger cycle that encompasses the entire mythology of the Noskori.

The Genesis narrative tells of an ancient struggle between Light and Shadow.
To deceive the Light and drain its power, the Shadow created the world of Lumina — a place of such beauty that the Light became distracted and gradually weakened. In the end, the Light was split into two halves: one that fell under the enchantment of Lumina’s appearance, and one that continued to fight tirelessly against the Shadow.
At last, the fighting half succeeded in banishing the Shadow.
But when the enchanted Light realized what had been lost, its grief turned into blazing fury: it attempted to destroy Lumina. Yet it no longer possessed enough strength — and so, drained of its final power, the Light solidified and became stone.
