Lumina is a body of work by Fabian Blum that is explored and developed across multiple pieces.
Lumina is a long-term artistic project by the composer Fabian Blum, which he has been developing and continuously expanding since childhood. At its core lies an extensive science-fiction and fantasy universe that takes shape through musical works and, in particular, through an independent comic opera.
The project combines composition, narrative, and aesthetic reflection. With its diverse characters, worlds, and themes, Lumina opens a space in which questions of identity, future, and societal utopia can be artistically explored.

Vula
The Vula are an intelligent and enigmatic species native to the volcanic landscapes of the southwestern continent. Living in tightly-knit tribal communities, they build their homes from the very stones shaped by the land’s fiery past. Despite many attempts, no outsider has ever fully understood their language—or seen a deceased Vula. Their ways remain a mystery, much like the origins of the volcanic terrain they call home. A people of stone, flame, and silence, the Vula continue to guard their secrets far from the eyes of the world.
Noskori
Named after the ancient Noskori Empire, this adaptable species stands as the only intelligent lifeform to inhabit every continent of Lumina. With lifespans reaching up to 80 years, the Noskori have mastered diverse environments, developing tools, traditions, and ways of life tailored to each climate. Their fur ranges in shades from deep blue to vivid green, reflecting their vast regional diversity. Resilient, resourceful, and far-reaching, the Noskori are the most widespread and varied intelligent species on the planet.
Luminara
Regarded by themselves as the most intelligent species on Lumina, the Luminara have chosen a life of deliberate seclusion on the narrow peninsula nation of Trang. Technologically unrivaled, they have achieved full control over their lifespans, living as long—or as briefly—as they wish. Population is precisely regulated through advanced systems to avoid both scarcity and excess. Isolationist by nature, the Luminara rarely interfere with the world beyond Trang, content in their belief that true progress lies within controlled evolution and perfect design.
